Something simple today. I just wanted to share with you some of the music that lifts my soul or breaks it down to feel and some with a message. I don’t sing that well, but I love to sing and to dance and the first song is so true for me right now, but also has a dancer in it. There is lyric video as well, but why read words when your soul can dance with them. πŸ™‚

  1. Unravelling – Cory Asbury: beautiful song asking God to help you feel again, to go home.
  2. Dear God – Cory and Anna Asbury – a song about God’s eternal love and faith in us.
  3. The Fixer – Brent Morgan – this was a sad and uncomfortable truth for me a few months ago. I’ve done a tiny bit of healing, but the addiction to ‘fixing’ others both at work and outside was the elephant in the room (one of them!)
  4. Never Have I Ever – Hillsong Young & Free – This is fun! I kinda imagined Mary and Jesus and all the celestials having a party with this one.
  5. Dawn – Rebecca St James with Luke Smallbone.
  6. The Truth About the World – Andrea Marie – about the search for the truth.
  7. Older Than I Am – Lennon Stella – took me back to how I felt when I was 16, 17, 18….maybe much younger and the sadness I have had about that ‘loss of innocence.’
  8. Pray – Sam Smith.
  9. Alive and Breathing – Matt Maher feat. Elle Limebear – singalong time!
  10. The Change in Me – Casting Crowns.
  11. The Impossible Dream – Luther Vandross – curve ball moment – stay tuned and hear the lyrics: Aspiration.
  12. Love’s Divine – Seal
  13. Just Let Me Cry – Hilary Weeks
  14. Drifting – Nathan Ball – about living in our hurt and addiction and moment we start to awaken to it..
  15. The God who Stays – Matthew West – the difference in how God sees us and how we see ourselves.
  16. The Garden – Kari Jobe – beautiful song.
  17. A Thousand Years – Christine Perri – a soulmate song for me.
  18. Wordless – Lauren Daigle
  19. Oceans (Where Feet May Fall) – Hillsong United
  20. You Say – Lauren Daigle – Relationship with God.
  21. Be Kind To Yourself – Andew Peterson – a little reminder. Something I’ve learnt this year is that self compassion is vital if I am going to change and grow. It softens your heart.
  22. Waiting on You – John Martin – soulmate stuff.
  23. Linger by Gateway Worship – Lovely little song.
  24. I Won’t Let You Go – Switchfoot feat Lauren Daigle
  25. Padded Cell – Seal – you will find your own meaning in this one, but some of the things that came up for me – trying to be so many versions of myself in my life to fit in, get approval, avoid attack and /or spirit influence and more. Have a listen..
  26. Boogie Wonderland – Earth, Wind & Fire – Disco!! Hee hee. My big crush when I was 16 was a Disco Dancing Champion πŸ™‚
  27. Ready To Be Myself – David Dunn- Facade, being what other want and choosing to be real.
  28. Broken Prayers – Riley Clemmons
  29. Til It Happens to You – Lady Gaga – graphic video, but good trigger for sexual abuse, rape.
  30. Brave – Sara Bareilles – try not to join in with the dancing with this one! For me and my new friend…
  31. Rain, in Your Black Eyes – Ezio Bosso – I love this composer and pianist and find his music emotional and irresitible not to dance to. In fact in 2017, at the age of 50 I did something I had always wanted to do helped by this incredible piece of music. I performed a 13 minute dance piece, I choreographed in front of an audience. It was a dance about my relationsihp with my body and the things that had happened to it. I can’t tell you what that felt like – I felt like me, I felt free even though it was absolutely terrifying, this music just takes my soul somewhere and gave me courage. Ezio created his music while having the same disease as Stephen Hawking. I wrote and thanked him afterwards and he wrote straight back – humble, passionate soul. He passed last year.

This is a good one to end with. This list should keep you busy for a while so I hope you enjoy. I have more, but this is a start. Thank God for music and for the creativity in our souls!
